Q. How is the information presented?, (Report, binders, tree etc, certificates ,photos etc) - if you provide examples of what you provide please could you forward.

A. Information is presented in the form of a written report and family trees.

Q. What is the cost.?

A. The main cost is the time spent, if the research starts at the turn of the 1900’s in Scotland then an 8 hour search should give a simple tree containing birth, death and marriage data and some census returns. We would hope to have one branch back to the turn of the 1790/1800’s, this would depend on where the research takes us.

We Charge £19.00 per hour  + expenses (photocopying, travel, admission fee etc.).  Data can be added if there is a wish to continue at a later date.

Q, How Do I Know How The Research Is Progressing?

A. We are happy to send a status report whenever you request it, to keep you updated on what we find. You may want to request  that we send a status report weekly, but keep in mind that preparing and sending a status report takes time, chargeabletime, which may be more effectively used doing actual research on  your project. We realize that you are anxious to learn the results, but we also want to maximize the actual research time we are able to devote to your project. It is always in our best interest, as well as yours, to produce the best possible results

Q. What do you need from me?

     A.  As much information as you can give, this will stop any repetition of work already  carried out. Names birth, marriage or death dates

You should  also provide copies of any family records you may have. This  information could potentially save hours of research time, which can better be used attempting to find new information. Details  about useful information that you may be able to provide will be discussed in our initial consultation.
